The UK is prepared to move forward with using the full worth of seized Russia's funds to bolster Ukraine's war effort, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a joint statement, the officials of the UK, France, and Germany emphasized that this coordinated action would escalate tension on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and persuade the Russian Federation to engage in negotiations.

They clarified that the initiative would be carried out in close cooperation with the America.

United Kingdom restrictions have blocked in excess of £25bn of Russian assets since Moscow began its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, previously, resources allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russia's assets had only been sourced from earnings and returns earned on them.

Sir Keir informed President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their aim to drive progress toward employing the complete amount of the frozen Russian sovereign assets to halt hostilities.

He stated that more measures over the next period would heighten the tension on Russia.

This declaration comes after EU officials gathered in Copenhagen previously to discuss using seized Russian holdings for a 140-billion-euro financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.
