A person who spiked sweets with sedative and gave them to minors at a summer program in Leicestershire has admitted sexual offenses against two boys who were nine and ten years old.

The senior citizen, from the Nottinghamshire area, pleaded guilty to a multiple criminal counts when he stood at the courthouse on Friday.

Yet, he disputed a single sexual charge he was accused of, which was involving a young boy.

Ruben was kept in jail prior to a subsequent court date on 28 November.

'Sweet game'

The legal representative, handling the case, outlined the criminal behavior to the legal proceedings.

She explained his victims were children from difficult backgrounds who were staying at a summer program which he operated.

Ruben engaged in a "treat game" with the minors, the prosecutor said, in which he would access the children's bedrooms when they were preparing to sleep and ask them to consume candy "as quickly as they can".

She told the court Ruben had engaged in this activity with the young males "repeatedly", and youngsters had previously become sick the subsequent day.

She explained the man had been capable of justifying this for many years as the youngsters being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his family member had concerns in recently.

The legal representative stated further: "In the summer" his family member had concerns about what was going on, justifiably.

"They chose" to examine in the defendant's belongings."

Mrs Prior KC explained items including baby oil, petroleum jelly and medical needles were discovered, and his stepchild contacted the police about his suspicions.

She stated the defendant went on to play the "candy game" with six youngsters that time - July 26th - and they were all ill the next day.

"The police had not responded by that time," she continued.

The regulatory agency, the police conduct office, had stated that it was reviewing law enforcement's management of the situation.

Mrs Prior stated the youngsters were struggling to walk due to their condition, so Ruben's stepson contacted the law enforcement a second time.

She stated the man then engaged in the "treat game" in a area of five youngsters.
